Prime Day is just two short weeks away, and whether you’re excited to shop the 48-hour sale or you couldn’t care less, you can take advantage of early Prime Day price drops on killer products now.
What often happens before Prime Day is sellers will jack up their prices only to drop them back down to their usual price to make it look like a huge sale when it’s not actually a discount at all.
To help you avoid those murky waters, I and my team of online shopping experts scour Amazon for top-sellers as well as products we’ve tested and know are amazing that appear to be on sale. Then we look deeper at price histories, customer reviews, and other details to determine whether a sale price is actually as good as it seems.
Here are the five best Prime Day deals you can get right now:
1. The Amazon Echo for half off

This has never happened before. Amazon has literally never dropped the price so low for the Echo, but it’s only available for today. It originally cost $100 and has gone on sale periodically for $70-$84, but $50?! Unheard of. The nature of the deal, and the fact that Prime Day is a glorified excuse to get people to buy Amazon’s devices and services, make me fairly certain we’ll see this price again during Prime Day.
But they may run out of certain color options or the products will get backordered and you’ll have to wait even longer to get your Echo if you wait to order on Prime Day. Plus, there are Alexa-only deals on prime Day and having a device already set up will let you access them.
2. An impressive and affordable Bluetooth speaker
Affordable, reliable speakers you can bring anywhere, all for $25?! (Photo: Anker)
If you like listening to music and also like spending time outside, you need a good Bluetooth speaker, and the Anker SoundCore is one of the best options. Not only does it sound really great, but it comes at a price that makes the sound quality even more impressive. At its usual $29.99 price tag, the SoundCore was not the most impressive of all the Bluetooth speakers we tested.
So why am I suggesting you buy it? Well, aside from being just $3 more than the best price we’ve ever seen (in blue and red), this little speaker is the perfect solution if you want something you can toss into your bag and not worry about a few scratches here and there. Our tester, Lee Neikirk, gave it an Editors’ Choice award because it’s a straightforward device that gets the job done at a fantastic price. Plus, it’s one of the best-selling Bluetooth speakers on Amazon, and right now it’s down from its usual $30-$32.

3. An Instant Pot that makes cake
If you’ve ever wanted an Instant Pot, this is a great chance to score one for a deal. (Photo: Reviewed / Jackson Ruckar)
The Instant Pot has turned pressure cooking into the trendiest way to prepare home-cooked meals of the last five years, and right now you can get the Instant Pot DUO Plus 9-in-1 for $10 more than the perennial favorite 7-in-1 Instant Pot, which is also on sale for $20 off (but if you want that model, we recommend waiting until Prime Day when it’ll surely be cheaper).
The 9-in-1 was once our favorite pressure cooker, and while we have since done more testing found that the Ultra is the best of the best, this model is fantastic thanks to its preset options to make cake, eggs, and yogurt—yes, it really can do it all.
Get the Instant Pot DUO Plus60 6-qt. 9-in-1 Pressure Cooker for $89.99 (Save $30)
4. A powerful powerstrip with USB ports

With so many devices, it seems like I never have enough outlets anymore. I have at lest one powerstrip in every room of my apartment, and the ones I love most are the ones that include USB ports. They free up outlets for other devices, so what’s not to love?
Right now you can get Anker’s PowerPort powerstrip for just $26.49, a whole $0.50 less than its previous low price and nearly $10 less than the full price ($35). Anker makes solid tech accessories, and this power strip is no different. It’s got three fast-charging USB ports and 12 outlets designed so you can plug in regular cords and big bricks with ease. Its own outlet is also flat so you can fit it easily behind furniture.
5. New iPad Pros are $50 off
A discount on an Apple product is always exciting. (Photo: Apple)
Hold the phone. The iPad Pro is $50 off on Amazon right now. If you fancy yourself budding digital artist or amateur photographer (or just like entertaining the idea that you could do those things), this beast of a tablet should be the perfect tool. Its 11-inch screen, massive 512GB memory, and nearly 10 hours of battery life also make it just as good as a computer if you only use yours for the basics anyway. This is especially true if you consider the portability and convenience of a tablet vs. a clunky laptop or a stationary desktop. The iPad pro originally cost over $1,100 and typically sells for around $1,000, so this rare discount has us excited.
