We love Chip and Joanna Gaines even more than shiplap.
Shiplappetizers, anyone? Chip and Joanna Gaines are sharing more of what’s going on in the kitchen regarding their upcoming cable network, and it includes a cooking show for Joanna.
The pair. who found fame with “Fixer Upper,” the renovation reality show celebrating Joanna’s rustic aesthetic. appeared on Thursday’s “Tonight Show,” taped in Austin, Texas, about 100 miles from their Waco headquarters.
They told exclusively to USA TODAY in April plan to launch the Magnolia network, replacing Discovery’s DIY network. It’s now due in October 2020.
Chatting about “Magnolia Table, Volume 2,” Joanna’s second cookbook to be released on April 7, Jimmy Fallon suggested a cooking show would make a natural fit.
“I don’t want to tell you how to do your network, but I would do a cooking show if I were you,” the host said with a chuckle.
“I like that idea, Jimmy,” Joanna responded, pointing to Chip for approval.

“I’m cool with it,” Chip said. “You’re talking to the executives of the Magnolia network, and when Jimmy Fallon says Jo should do a cooking show, I vote that Jo does a cooking show.”
Fallon was all for it. “Yes, I think you should do it, come on! I’d love to be a guest!” he said. “Will you do one?”
“We’re doing one,” Joanna confirmed. “Yes, we’re gonna do it.”
“It’s gonna be fun,” she added.

In addition to Joanna’s two cookbooks, the couple’s Magnolia Table restaurant in Waco uses items grown in Joanna’s garden and eggs laid by her chickens, according to its website. The Silos Baking Co. features eats crafted from Joanna’s recipes.
Last month, the couple announced the first TV show to drop on their channel will feature their favorite band and close friends Johnnyswim.
“Home on the Road” will follow musicians Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez as they tour the country with their two young children.
Chip told USA TODAY he was excited that the new network would give the couple the opportunity to “tell more of our life stories.”
“So, as opposed to it being a very narrow vein in our universe, which is obviously construction and design and the things we do for a living, for us we feel like there’s a more holistic story to be told here, and that’s what we’re going to focus on.”
