The female cast of One Tree Hill and the show’s crew to wrote a letter accusing Mark Schwahn of sexual harassment.
Is there a Tree Hill High School reunion coming in the future?
According to former “One Tree Hill” star Bethany Joy Lenz, one big issue stands in the way of rebooting the teen drama series of the 2000s.
Lenz reunited with her co-star on the podcast, “Whine Down with Jana Kramer,” to weigh in on why she thinks some cast members may not want to relive their “One Tree Hill” days.
According to Lenz, the potential of a reboot benefiting show runner Mark Schwahn, whom the female cast accused of “traumatizing” sexual harassment, makes the idea unappealing.
“That’s a problem,” Lenz said. “The problem is that the creator of the show makes money on any incarnation of the show afterwards, and, of course, that’s its own issue. So, I think that would be the big thing standing in the way, unless he was willing to donate it all or something.”

In 2017, the “One Tree Hill” stars penned a letter in support of former writer Audrey Wauchope, who detailed in a series of tweets the treatment female crew endured on the show, which aired on WB from 2003 to 2006, and on the CW from 2006 to 2012.
“All of the female cast members of ‘One Tree Hill’ have chosen this forum to stand together in support of Audrey Wauchope and one another,” said the letter published in the entertainment trade publication Variety.

Though she seemed to doubt the possibility of a reboot, Lenz added her co-stars might enjoy working together as adults.
“It would be great to go back and not have it feel like it was divided in any way,” she said. “I think we’re all just older now. It’d be much easier to just really enjoy each other’s company and enjoy showing up at work, appreciate having a job, appreciate being some place where we know we have such a huge fan base.”
Lenz recalled feelings of insecurity and competition she felt on the show.
“I do remember having moments of those. You’re in the hair and make-up trailer, and you’re thinking, ‘Oh she looks prettier than me today. Ugh, why is my hair this color and why does hers get to be that color,’ ” she said. “Just everything you feel when you’re in sixth grade, and you just don’t grow out of it until your late twenties, hopefully.”
